-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Static link libraries of jitterentropy-library, a CPU-jitter entropy
source, for developers building programs for AROS x86_64 with ABIv11,
such as AROS One. These binaries are not for mainline AROS (ABIv1), i386
or aarch64. There is no shared .library. The toolchain is needed only
for development, not to run an application linked with these libraries.
Three layers, kept apart:
1. lib/libjitterentropy.a, include/jitterentropy.h
the upstream library, unchanged, compiled with -O0 as upstream
requires;
2. include/jitterentropy-base-user.h
the AROS platform layer (time stamp counter, memory);
3. lib/libjitterentropy_mbedtls.a
an optional adapter providing mbedtls_hardware_poll() for Mbed TLS
(see mbedtls.x86_64-aros-v11.zip); it uses no Mbed TLS header.
Also: examples/jent_read.c, src/ (adapter, platform header, build script),
README.txt, BUILD.txt, LICENSE, LICENSE.bsd, LICENSE.gplv2, LICENSE.port.
The library performs startup and runtime health checks. The adapter
propagates initialization and collection failures to its caller; it does
not override a failure or fall back to rand(), wall-clock time or raw
counter values. The caller must check the return code and must not use
output from a failed request. Passing health checks is not, by itself,
an assessment of the source's entropy rate.
Tested on AROS One 1.3 x86_64 under QEMU (TCG): the library accepted the
timer, the examples ran, and a raw-noise measurement with upstream's own
procedure (1,000,000 samples, NIST SP 800-90B non-IID estimator) gave 2.21
bits per sample against approximately 0.333 at the tested default setting;
the runtime criterion is met in
that configuration. The restart part of the procedure was not completed, so
the assessment is not complete. Only one configuration was measured: not
under KVM, on real hardware or under load. This is a port and a build, not
a certification.
License: upstream jitterentropy is available under BSD-3-Clause or GPLv2;
our port files are MIT. Full terms are included in the LICENSE files.
Upstream sources are unchanged (release 3.7.0, SHA-256 in README.txt).

Test reports are under docs/reports/ in the same repository. README.txt
explains how to rebuild.
These packages make the AROS ports developed for arospkg available to other
developers. Source changes, build scripts and examples are included. No
regular update schedule is promised; contributions and upstream integration
are welcome. Applications linking these libraries remain responsible for
tracking relevant upstream security updates and rebuilding when necessary.
