Prerequisites Check: Ensure that your AROS-64Bit v11 installation has the
filesysbox.library
(version 54.3 or higher) and the smb2-handler binary placed in the system's L:
drawer. These
are essential requirements for the SMB2 backend to respond correctly.
Automatic Persistence (DEVS:DOSDrivers): When you create and mount a share,
the Mountlist (SMB2)
will be saved in SYS:Storage/DOSDrivers. This ensures the share remains
available and ready
to be mounted natively even after a system reboot.
Automatic Mounting: SMB2-GUI allows automatic mounting in addition to creating
SMB2 DOSDrivers.
To achieve automatic mounting upon every AROS reboot, copy the SMB2-Start
script file and its
corresponding icon (found in the archive) into WBStartup.
DisMount Integration: SMB2-GUI integrates a DisMount feature that uses the
FbxDismount command
to cleanly and automatically unmount the shared volume.
The archive includes public domain source code for anyone who would like to
improve
the program. A citation of the author is greatly appreciated.
The GUI was natively created and compiled on AROS 64-bit v11 with the
contribution of AI.
